Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
That one day, seemed so normal, she could remember everything… from the day she was born to that day. That was only a few hours ago, now… she can barely remember who she is. She remembers her name though but that is as far as her mind will allow and she also remembered that this place when I’ve awakened is not my world. It is something of a myth; this strange place in she did not even know existed, the strange world. She could feel her mind drifting through its self in those brief moments of darkness, trying to find the key to her memories before the light came and her eyes completely opened.
First Letter
Dear Isa,
I see you have arrived here now Isa hopefully you can survive this world, If you don’t remember you will end up in a confusing danger.
Clue 1:
I am the lanterns of witches passed; I am no bigger than your fingertips. Where these are is where the fire burns, in this fire is you memory key.
Have fun tracking the clues dear Isa
Yours sincerely,
…..
She groaned reading it wondering what on earth was going on tucking a piece of long brown hair back behind her ear her piercing ice blue eyes reading through the letter once more, “What is going on?” she muttered to herself before she looked up to see someone there a man who looked around her age looking down at her, she got up a little weak from suddenly appearing in this strange other dimension “Umm, where am I?” she asked

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
If he was correct, the one carrying the information he needed would be right about here, give or take a few hours from now. He double checked his information and placed the hastily scribbled note down for them to find when they appeared before he took his leave quickly. He couldn't allow any others to find out what he was doing lest they attempt to steal his treasure.
Lux walked to the location he had visited earlier, noting with excitement that where the letter had been placed now sat the person it was intended for. A young girl of a few years younger than him, perhaps. She looked rather disoriented and confused. As he looked down at her he couldn't help but wonder if she was the right person. Was he wrong? No, this was obviously the only person jumping dimensions. How many other people could be doing that at the exact time he had been given? No one, that's who.
"Are you all right, miss?" he asked rather than respond to her question. After all, isn't that what a concerned innocent was supposed to do?

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She rubbed her head a little looking up to him and slowly got to her feet. “I think so but can you answer where I am?” she asked him a little nervous and cautious of this strange place that surrounded her, she wondered why on earth she had been brought here as well. Her eyes looked around a little before turning back to him. She was very nervous around strangers “Who are you?” she asked him cautiously. Something seemed a bit off to her but thought it might just be the effects of waking up and banging her head. She had forgotten whatever information he wanted but she was yet to find that out. She waited for an answer from him cautiously keeping a fair distance from him, anyone would in such a weird world although he seemed human enough.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
"I'm afraid your question in itself confuses me," he responded with a careful tone, sounding as though he were being cautious not to startle her. "Where else would you be but Earth?" He made it sound as though he were treating her lightly, like a mental patient escapee. "As for who I am," he continued, names running through his head. "I'm Aster." He lied as easily as one says hello. Lies, excuses, whatever he needed to say rolled off of his tongue as smooth as butter and as quick as lightning. He redirected the attention back to her though to seem like a concerned person and all that. "Who are you?"
Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She looked to him frowning at the way he was treating her “No this isn’t earth, for one earth is not set in a medieval time that was quite a few years ago, centuries ago” she said to him, her strange clothes showed she clearly wasn’t from this place at least. She rubbed her head a little sighing “My name is Isa” she said to him calmly trying to relax a little still quite shocked about suddenly waking up in a strange world she knew nothing about. She rubbed her head a little it felt like she had awakened from a dream still. She tried to think of something, "Also don't treat me like i'm a mental patient either the fact my clothes are so much more different than yours proves that I'm somewhere else, now where am I?" she asked clearly going into a panic with everything her mind still very confused in the blink of an eye all her memories had vanished, she could barely remember anything.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
Lux was slightly taken aback by the attitude she took on. He hadn't expected her to get snappy with him. He was mentally slapping himself in the face though for not questioning her clothes. Any normal bystander would do that, wouldn't they? He had known the person would be from somewhere else, therefore the clothes difference hadn't bothered him at all.
"I told you, you're on Earth. Things have always been like this, I don't know what you're talking about when you say medieval time." He wasn't sure where she'd come from, honestly, but he would guess it must have been another place called Earth if this was her reaction.
"Look," he said, trying to calm down her rising panic. "Whatever you say you're from, this place is Earth. If you're from some other place called Earth, then there are two, okay? No need to get worked up."

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She closed her eyes to calm herself before she thought a little deciding that there had to be a way back and she began to walk off to try and see if there was some sort of portal or someone else who knew about having taken the letter with her and stuffing it in her pocket to look over that strange clue again. She walked into someone in “My, where are you from, such strange clothes” they said “you’re wearing clothes similar to what the fortune teller said… they mentioned a key connected to you, now please excuse me but I have to get back” she said having been collecting some herbs for her family. Isa looked to her clothes and then to the other women’s “Oh come on there has to be a way back and what is this key?” she asked herself.
It took some time before she gave up hugging her knees she stayed in that spot, “I should’ve just stay with Aster” she muttered to herself, “At least then I might’ve learnt something” she turned her head hearing someone “Who’s there?” she asked.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
When the girl began to wander off, Lux allowed her to gain distance before taking a slow pursuit of her. He had to keep tabs on her just to make sure no one else snatched his information ticket. He should purchase a tracking tag or something and place it on her, just so he could always find her. At least until she was useful. He needed that information from her as soon as he could get it.
As he followed her he listened in on a few of her conversations with the local folks. When she stopped from either exhaustion or confusion, Lux had to come to a decision quickly. He would either keep tracking her from afar to see what she would do on her own, or re-enter right then and there. Might move things along quicker, he was sure.
Though generally a quiet, stealthy walker, he made sure to make some noise for his entrance.
"Hey," he greeted, "I, ah, followed you back just in case you weren't feeling very well. I thought that with how you were acting maybe you weren't in the best condition to travel." The lie rolled right off his tongue. He was thinking of the story as he spoke it, even. "I mean, I know you didn't like how I was treating you, so I hung back, I guess."

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She looked to him just nodding a little “yeah I guess, umm do you have some clothes I can wear so people don’t start stopping me again” she said just exhausted through all of this confusion. Standing up she brushed herself off once more with a sigh. Waiting for his answer before asking another one “Also any chance I can sleep wherever you live since your about the only person I actually know?” she asked not really having anywhere to go anyway. Waiting in silence for his answers a kid walked and looked to her “hey, my mother said you were that girl from the fortune tellers prediction where are you from?” “Earth” “But, those aren’t clothes from here” the kid responded looking curiously at her.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
Although Lux did have his own money on hand, as well as a secret storage of it, he hated spending money. He'd have to steal some without her seeing so he could give her money to buy her own clothes. He'd been about to offer her the chance to buy some if she'd wait just a moment when a child approached them. With the questions coming from the child's mouth, Lux stepped in.
"Sorry, kid, but you're going to have to leave her be," he told the child gently. He hated being gentle with kids but if for acting's sake, then so be it. "She's from a different Earth, okay? They have different clothes, different everything."
He turned to Isa then. "Give me just a second," he said before turning on his heel and walking into a crowd.
He had to scan the coin purses of each individual quickly so he could snatch the money without any of them noticing. Once he'd grabbed enough from individual groups he returned to her side, appearing to pull the money out from his own coin purse.
"Money for clothes you will need," he told her as he offered his hand. "As for living quarters, I'm a bit of a traveler, so I'm afraid I haven't got a free bed to spare." He handed her a few more coins that he'd taken. "This, however, will be enough to grab your own room when we head back to the Inn I'm staying at."

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She waited as she was told, she closed her eyes briefly opening them when she heard him coming back and nodded “ok, thanks” she said to him looking at it, the currency was pretty similar at least that wasn’t too different so she could figure that out herself. She did head into the village and bought herself a set of clothes and a cloak to keep herself warm since it was a little chilly, she pulled the cloak around her to hide the unusual clothes and carried the other clothes following him back to the inn he stayed at and got herself a room, she changed into the plain clothes stuffing her other clothes in an old leather bag that someone had left behind, it was empty anyway. She looked around the bare room and rustled her hair before falling back on her bed “Why can’t I remember anything?” she asked herself before looking to the letter once more reading through the riddle once more.
She thought a moment, "Fireflie?" she muttered, they burn like a yellow fire and they are creatures which is what these refers to..." she walked form her room and asked the Inn Keeper "Is there anywhere that fireflies are seen often?" she asked curiously.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
((Sorry, but it's sort of up to you to make the girl follow the riddles as planned. I have no idea where they lead ^^)
Lux followed her around the the village's small market place. Though small, it was always bustling, always good for overhearing information, or pickpocketing, as he did best. Once she was finished buying clothes he escorted her to the Inn. Once she was situated with her own room, he parted ways to his own. At least to give her some breathing space, he'd leave her be for the moment.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
"Ah, yes of course, to the west of here, take the forest path and stop as the clearing jsut a little ways off" he said nodding "Thank you" she said and walked outside, taking the path she was told and found the fireflies smiling at their latern glows she looked around a little and noticed one landing on something that was buried, she used her hands to pulled the earth away and there was a small chest and key she opened it and sighed... Another letter... "Whoever he is he enjoys playing around" she muttered.
Second Letter
Dear Isa, Glad to see you found the second letter, however this next clue will be somewhere far away, I hope you enjoy looking for it this one is a little tougher.
Clue II:
You've found the fire now find the next, not the oposite but the freind of this harsh element
From.....
She sighed and headed back sleeping her memroies came back triggered by the firreflies... only a snipit, she woke up startled giving a yelp of shock and held her head. Her mother had brought her here ebfore and she had something aroudn erh neck like a pendant, suddenly there were a lot of people around with some sort of weapon. The pendant was given to her and then... nothing...

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
((Err, I must admit that I'm not very creative or mysterious at setting things like that up...))
From the room in the Inn Lux watched the girl leave. He knew where she was going so he had no need to follow her. He just hoped she'd come back quickly was all. She must have gone to the location the first letter had clued in about, and if she was smart she must have asked the innkeeper about it. The direction she'd taken had clued him in enough about it, so he was confident in her whereabouts.
As he waited for her return he made a trip to the innkeeper, paying him a small fee for tipping the girl off. He would have to guide her in the right direction now, but all of it had to be coincidental to her and her goals. He wondered if this was worth the trouble, but upon remembering the reward, he knew it was worth it.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
In the morning she ran through the faint memories that had been triggered by that spot, she had been here before when she was younger, very young and had most likely hidden the key when she was a mere infant she thought… or whatever this key was. She just wanted to remember nothing else at all; she didn’t know what this key would unlock. She rustled her hair sighing and walked from her room with the old leather bag. She didn’t expect to see anyone there and just settled down at the Inn to eat something for breakfast not feeling too good after such a busy day before and waking up to realise this was definitely no dream.
She kept the cloak around her as well to keep herself warm, “that clue was nothing but a few words, where on earth will I find that” she muttered annoyed and tried to think “The friend of fire... let’s see” she said her mind drifting into thought as she sat at the table. She snapped out of it when she heard someone speaking to her "Huh, what?" she asked lookign to him having been lsot in thought had heard nothing he'd just said to her.
(Ok no worries, I can keep thinking up weird riddles somehow...)

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
(Sorry, I wish I could help, but you'd get nowhere with me whether or not I'd agreed. I would just say whatever you came up with was fine.)
Lux had stayed up until she'd returned to her room looking rather harried. He smirked as he knew what it was from. Things were going according to plan so far. He loved when things went according to plan, except now he was paranoid of when things would derail.
He was generally a light sleeper, so when the morning came he was quick to rise. He waited until he heard her leave her room though, exiting and following her down slowly. He gave himself a sleepy, just woke up appearance.
Listening to her mutter to herself confirmed his suspicions of her finding the second clue. He was grinning internally.
"Did you sleep well?" he asked her, only to have been ignored. "Miss Isa? Hello?" He gave a faked gentle laugh when she realised he was speaking to her. He repeated what he'd asked of her first.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She nodded “Hmm sort of…” she said “What about you sleep well?” she asked him, she could pick up small things like the fake laugh and looked to him a little confused at the fake laugh before she stood up “Well I have somewhere to find, go knows where” she said trying to think, she had no idea where to look and had a feeling she was going to remain here for some time as well. “Where are you heading next anyway, you said you were a traveller?” she asked just trying to start some sort of conversation. “Although one things for sure I think I’ve been here before” she said still a bit confused by that weird memory. "Also any idea where I should start out searching, something that is the freind of fire" she asked seeing if he would have any idea.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
"I slept well, yes," he replied smoothly, only to be suddenly and unpleasantly alarmed when she said she had somewhere to go. Where would she go? How could he convince her she needed him to follow or help out? Maybe he could do just that. "Ah, I'm not sure where I'm going. I might pack up today or I might pack up next week, that's just how it is with me." Really he only packed up when he had to change aliases, sides, or was bailing out completely. His profession forced him to do so quite often, hence the mystery of when he'd be packing next.
He raised a delicate eyebrow when she said she'd perhaps been here before. It was possible, he supposed, since she had knowledge of the key that was located here.
"How could that be possible?" he asked her, for the sake of appearing normal and confused. He listened to her recite the clue he had left her, considering it. "Friend of fire? Well, if you think about it, fire's like that person no one wants around. Fire eats and destroys everything, and everything lets it, so that's fire's idea of a friend. But something that works mutually with fire? Is that what you mean?"

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
“I have no idea, it’s just a riddle on a letter” she said and picked her bag up “Well thanks for the help” she said she asked a few people about recently burnt down places to investigate there instead but didn’t come up with anything, mostly because she had no idea where anywhere was still and headed back to the Inn to see if he was still there, hoping he’d know. “Aster, would you help me out a little, I have no idea where anywhere is and you seem to know where everywhere is so…” she asked hoping he’d help her out a bit.
She was still thinking maybe the mutually working with fire thing was the answer, she thought still while she waited for his answer… “Well?” she was getting a little impatient thinking if she ended this all quickly she could go back home sooner.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
Watching her pick up the pieces and sort through the clues was entertaining for the most part, Lux thought. He liked to play clueless while pointing her in the right direction at the same time. 'Unwittingly giving hints' he called it. He hadn't played this method of manipulation in a long time, thus giving it a thorough source of fun for him.
"Well I'm a traveler, of course I know where everything is," he commented. "We're looking for some place that's burnt down, you say?" he asked, working off of what she was asking others. Or if she had other ideas, he'd help her out with that too, but he certainly wasn't going to 'formulate' his own concept of the riddle, aka guiding her to the one solution she hadn't thought of or some other concept of that.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
“Or somewhere where there is a lot of wind naturally, fire uses the air to feed off and grow on and if there are loads of wind it can become a fire tornado” she said to him seeing what he would come with thinking maybe she should drag him along with her since he appeared to have more ideas than her about where to look. She rustled her hair sitting at the table as she mulled over the answer. “What am I supposed to remember anyway?” she muttered giving a light sigh. “Anyway do you know of any faster ways to travel since there clearly are no cars here that’s for sure” she said bluntly “maybe horses?” she thought. "Any ideas where I could borrow one?" she asked him.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
He was highly amused by her guessing. He liked how close she could get to how far she strayed with the answer. He kept his smirking internal though. Any outside emotion would rise suspicion on him, he felt.
"Natural wind would occur in the wind canyons, which are quite a ways out west," he answered. "No fire there, but I'm sure you'll figure something out if that's where you're headed." He refrained from answering her when she asked what she was supposed to answer. Technically he was just the bystander who may or may not have heard of the fortune teller's prophecy.
"We have Gallient's, which might be what you're talking about," he offered, not quite sure what a horse or car was. "We use them for travel and heavy lifting. Six legged beasts of burden, they are. Purchasing them is not easy. Renting out a carriage is not easy either."

"i'm looking for the freind of fire not actaul fire" she said to him, she lsitened to what he had to say and sighed... "Well looks like I'm travelling on foot for a while at least" she said to him sighing and rustled her hair "so far west is the best bet on this one" she muttered to him. She whimpered a little thinking "Well I'm going to get going, where are you headed anyway, anywhere west?"she asked sort ofhoping he was since she didn't exactly want to be in thsi strange world on her own at all, it was so strange to her afterall.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
"Well, if you're heading out today, I suppose I might as well leave too," he informed her casually. He had figured she'd at least want to stay a little longer, maybe get better acquainted with the new area. "I would advise against leaving without preparing anything though, mind you. If you're actually going to travel west, then neither of us have the supplies for surviving the trip." He wondered if she was in such a hurry that she neglected to think common sense survival. Or perhaps her own Earth didn't require that. If given enough time perhaps he could steal enough money to buy a Gallient, or even rent out the carriage.
Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She sighed knowing he was right, she had to think about this and groaned rustling her hair thinking about what sort of things would be needed and walked around the strange village to see what would be needed if she was going to travel west, guessing they were far away as well. She then realised maybe she should take a little time to make sure everything had sunk in and sighed before she headed back to where the fireflies had been and sat down there seeing what else she could remember before she began to head south after she had some food and something to contain water in, she was sure they’d be somewhere else to stop off at on the way and refill her supplies if not she was sure there would be something in the forests she could eat at least.
