Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
The two of them split up, and while Lux normally would have followed her to help her acquire her things correctly, he had his own possessions to grab. They would meet up later, he assumed. Returning to the room he had inhabited for a short period of time, he collected his few possessions and headed out for the village market area. With a bit of pickpocketing he had enough money to buy some supplies without dipping too heavily into his own coin bag. He bought enough supplies to last him until they would locate the nearest town which could be used for more pickpocketing, information gathering, and a breather from the journey west.
Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She walked west knowing which way was west luckily. She tried to think logically about how far it would take and soon figured out she was going to have to camp for a few nights at least during this journey, these letter were going to drive her mad she thought. She kept walking west towards her next location for the remainder of the day by evening her feet ached and she found a water source to dip her feet in wincing a little, “Ouch, those paths aren’t good on the feet” she muttered having tied a knot in the dress she had gotten to keep it from getting soaked and looked to the reflection in the water humming to herself. “Maybe I should rest here tonight, I can’t travel much more anyway” she said and un tied the knot in her dress before she moved her feet from the water breaking some twigs off a tree to use for fire wood, she was glad she had done some camping back in her world at least, “let’s see now some rocks…” she muttered and searched around the friction between the two rocks cause a few sparks and soon enough she had a small fire. “Perfect” she smiled. She was aware of strange creatures in the forest having seen a few around while she had been walking on the west bound paths. She had become more curious now and wished she had her sketch pad to draw a few down.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
When the girl hadn't returned by nightfall, Lux was growing relatively concerned. Was she captured? Was she lost? He should have followed her, or at least put a sort of tracker on her. He was all packed up and had bought most of what he would need to keep himself alive while they were out west. Naturally he intended on restocking in the next town over, just as soon as he found Isa and they headed out.
Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
Isa had curled up sleeping by the fire that slowly grew dimmer as time passed. She woke up hearing him and looked up "What on earth, are you following me?" she said blinking a few times to wake herself up a bit more and toss some twigs onto the small fire. She looked to him waiting for an answer in silence before giving a tired yawn and rustled ehr alreadymessy hair. "hurry up adn answer I want to get soem mroe sleep in before I start to travel" she said but tehn looked ot the sky and groaned standing up and picking some food from ehr bag and put her cloak back on properly.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
Lux had gone out to find her, and while it had taken quite a bit of guess work as to where she was, he located her by a fire she must have created. He moved loudly enough to wake her, looking at her steadily rousing from sleep. "I'm not following you," he answered, "I'm keeping an eye on you to make sure you don't injure yourself in this foreign world." It sounded like a good excuse. "You can get more sleep. We can stay here until the next morn." He would imagine she would be exhausted from dimensional traveling, after all. "I'll keep watch," he offered.
Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She sighed "fine then" she muttered and settled back down with her back to him and the fire curling up into her cloak before falling asleep, breahting quitely through erh sleep as the fire burned the fresh twigs it had been given until the morning. She woke up then adn blinked a few times movinga little before she sat up with a yawn "morning" she said to him "and thanks for checking up on me at least" she smiled a little.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
The night had been uneventful, unlike most nights on Earth. His realm of Earth, that is. He had no idea if her realm was dangerous or not. He didn't usually require much sleep or sustenance. Only the bare essential, so staying up all night to keep watch was easy. When she finally awoke and greeted him, he returned her greeting as well as acknowledging her thanks. "We're leaving today if you're ready," he informed her.
Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She nodded "yeah I'm ready" she said standing up and putting out the fire, she yawned and stretched her arms before she picked up her bag and loooked around a little "So much more peaceful than my world" she muttered before heading in a westward direction once more. She hoped the next town was nearby now since she didn't fancy another night camping really. "So why did you decide to make sure I didn't get in trouble?" she asked

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
He couldn't help but give a small, amused laugh at her comment about peaceful. "This was just a lucky night, is all," he told her. "Unless you regularly have creatures or bandits that roam around in the night, I'm not so sure it's much more peaceful." But hey, what did he know about her realm of Earth? He grabbed his possessions and looked to the west.
"Well, I found you first, didn't I?" he asked. "Means I have to take responsibility for finding you and making sure you don't get hurt in this world, right?" It sounded like good logic if he were actually an innocent bystander, he figured.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She sighed and nodded "fair enough, and actaully there are if you are out at night although sometimes there are people who are a lot more worse... unless your at your home of course you have a lot to worry about there" she said, she didn't live in the best of areas that was for sure. Although having another person wasn't that bad at least she could talk to him if she wanted to and the prescence of someone who actaully knew where they were going was somewhat reassureing to her.
She found the hidden paths again taking them to get to their destination, she stopped breifly hearing something "You hear that?" she asked hearing some rustling in the bushes or trees and there wasn't any wind either that was for sure. She looked around to see if she could spot anything. Moving sudden;y when another person just apeared from nowhere shouting at her "Where is the key?!"

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
Lux had thought he'd heard something while they were on the hidden paths, but he nearly thought himself to be imagining things. All the same, his hand went to the dagger hidden under his clothes, strapped to his abdomen. When the rustling grew loud enough for Isa to hear, he scanned the area quickly, only to be slightly surprised when the person jumped out from the trees above. Of course, he thought. People never look up. He quickly grasped his dagger from the sheath, moving in front of Isa. He brandished the weapon threateningly, glaring sharply at them.
"There is no key," he told the threat, playing oblivious to the real reason she was being hunted down. "Stand down and we won't need to fight."

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
“What do you mean there’s no key that fortune teller said she had the key, her mother gave it to her” he said angrily “Or is someone such as yourself so blind or are you simply playing the hero” he chuckled although he was backing up not wanting to really get into a fight. Isa backed up a little as well; she could remember the key a little, guessing it was what had been given to her. He was also thief and another person after what power had been locked away by such a simple key locked away in her memories.
There were plenty after it including the fortune teller who clearly was trying to get to it themselves. She looked to him “What key?” she asked “is It a legend or something lots of people have mentioned a fortune teller saying that I would arrive here” she said. Something was rising her suspicions a little.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
Lux held his protective stance, listening out for any other people the first thief may have brought with him. Without dropping his guard, he answered Isa. "Fortune teller's prophecy or something, a bit fuzzy on the details myself. I'm sure the superstitious folks of the towns could give you more details on it. Something like a key unlocking an item or something." So maybe he knew much, much more than that, but he couldn't have her thinking he was only helping her just to get to the key.
Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She shook her head "that's something else for me to find out" she sighed and continued through the path hoping the other town would beclose "how much further to the next town, do you know?" she asked him looking to him over her shoudler since she had decided to take the lead partly because seh thought he was walking to slow for her liking. "Anyway maybe if we find that fortune teller we can ask them, might be interesting" she said humming softly to ehrself whiel seh waited for him to answer her.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
He shook his head slowly, returning the knife to the sleeve beneath his clothing. "Perhaps nightfall we'll arrive," he said. If they moved quicker, or if they had the Galient's, they'd be there a bit after noon. "As for the fortune teller, I'm not quite sure where they would be," he admitted honestly. "Sometimes the fortune teller travels. Needs to be where they're needed, y'know?" On the occasion there were a few who kept track of the movements of the fortune teller, but those were far and few between.
Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She nodded "not mayn fortune teelers where I come from" she said and nodded a little "yeah hopefully, i don't want to be compingotu again" she said whimpering a little at the thought ebfore she kept her pace "if you walk a bit quicker then maybe we'll get htere" she said playing a little and kept her pace up hoping they would reach their before nightfall.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
"Oh, if I walk quicker?" he asked with a raised brow and an amused quirk to his lips. "I'm not the one who absolutely had to fall asleep defenseless by a fire, which, mind you, attracts a lot of unwanted attention around here." He was joking, of course, but he'd been known to sound condescending by nature. He could easily outpace her there, especially because he had much practice with traveling and pacing. He required less than the average person due to rigourous training as well. He could step it up though, just to show off, but tiring her out would only accomplish them taking more breaks and eventually slowing down entirely, defeating the purpose of speeding up.
Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She looked to him over her shoulder "well at least keep up with me" she said to him bluntly and kept her pace up wanting to get to the town determinednot to stop for any rests if she could help it "and sorry but I needed to sleep and there was not shelter nearby" she said back to him. They walekd most of the day she sipped on her water bottle every now and then to keep herself hydrated during the day and occasionally her gaze would raise to the sky. She smiled a little and rustled ehr hair and kept going until they reached the town. In which she appeared very glad to see.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
Oh, he'd keep up with her, all right. In fact, he increased his pace to where he was walking ahead of her. He had every right to tell her 'keep up' if he wanted, but that would just sound petty. He took a few sips from the water skeins to keep his hydration levels stable on their trek to the next town. As the sun fell and the moon crept up, the town came in sight. He could practically feel her relief oozing off of her. As they arrived, he managed to pickpocket a few passerbys just to pay for a night with the town's Inn. Hopefully she would learn how to get her own money so he didn't have to keep stealing excessive amounts for her too.
Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She thought for a moment and went to the Inn asking if she could trade some working hours for some payment and a room, luckily for ehr they agreed adn she began ot help out a little, if they stayed a few days she could earn enough to refill her supplies and with a free room as well she certaintly got herself a good deal although it meant having to take drinks and food over to some drunks, at least she was earning something for ehrself, plus the water skiens could be refilled anyway so she only needed to restock on bits of food.
She walked from her room at a certain time adn began to help with the tables serving the food to people as they walked in noting teh different types of customers easily. She took a round of drinks to one table before hurrying back to another to bring them their food and sighed a little.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
When the girl got herself a job working with the Inn, Lux was a bit surprised. He was glad she was working because it not only kept her out of trouble and in sight, but she was earning her own income to use. Perhaps he could train her to listen to the customers for information. It would look less suspicious than him hanging around a table all day, leaning in to conversations. Hers would look natural. Maybe he could put her to some use after all, while her memory was out of commission.
Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She might ahve been a bit naive and confused over the first few days but had realised she needed to get herself together and earn her own income just like in her world. She earns some money each day at least and would clean up before she headed to bed after her shift smiling at her earnings, feeling quite acomplished with herself after only her first night,it certaintly paid well too. She put them in a small bag and made sure to keep them safe so they weren't stolen hiding them in her normal bag. "Well that passed some time and it felt nice as well... pays better than in my world" she sadi smiling a little to herself. Also she couldn't rely on anyone all the time either otherwise it would jsut annoy them and she didn't want to be compeltey useless and she had to get used to this world since she ahd a feeling she'd be here quite some time, maybe even stay if she liked it enough.

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
Over the few days that they spent kipping out in the town, Lux used them productively, sometimes hanging around the Inn, sometimes heading for the local pub. Sometimes he even made 'house calls' as he called them, which consisted him flirting with local young men and following them home. Women were easier to charm and didn't need him going home with them just for info. Not that he minded going home with them. He quite enjoyed it, actually, but sometimes it did take up a bit of time and he wanted to keep an eye out for Isa.
Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
She used the time she ahd to learn a little more finding someone who sold Galliants and looked at the creatures they certaintly were strange but gentle things much like the horses back home. She smiled looking to them and stroked one on the face not that the seller minded too much but watched her a little incase she tried to nick one. She had soon blended into the life quite easily and asked prices on things decided maybe if she kept a little aside every now and than she'd be able to save up for a Galliant hopefully.
On the fifth day she bought her supplies working another night to earn a bit towards a Galliant which she hoped she'd be able to get sooner or later. She smiled a little and worked the tables as usual after her shift she helped clean up a bit adn thanked the Inn keeper as well for the temperary job since she planned to leave the next day.
(what do the galliant's look like?)

Re: Trail of Letters (Reserved, Mature)
((Err, I think I sad 6 legged beasts of burden, so they're like horses and oxen mixed together. That is, it's got six legs but is very bulky, unlike a horse. It's bulky like a big ox. I guess it has a horse's head))
The nights spent at another man's house was used to steal money or valuable possessions. Of course he gave each man a different name, so they couldn't ask around for him when they woke in the morning to find their possessions or money missing. He was hoping to save up for a Gallient, if not maybe a rented carriage. When he checked in with Isa every now and then he found that she was attempting to save up money as well. They could probably put their funds together for one. They were terribly expensive, so buying two would be out of the question given the time they had.
