His words did little to soothe her rapid beating heart, if anything it made it worse for her. Artemis still didn't care for his words and the fact that he could say them with a straight face but that was probably the difference between his people and hers. Justin backed up to Artemis to protect her, one of the men leaped up onto the bed to try and strike at Artemis while the other five advanced on Justin. A black and orange blur flashed between Justin and Artemis, as Zeus leaped and pounced on the man on the bed. He knocked him from the bed to the floor with a roar and a terrifying scream from the man.

Justin engaged the others, his blade weaving a web of steel before him. The man on the floor was trying to keep Zeus' jaws from his throat. Soon one man was down clutching at his throat as blood gushed from a deep cut to it. There was a slight smile on his lips as he fought, one that it was said he had when he fought. "If you can use that pistol, I would suggest you do." he told Artemis.

Her heart sank into her stomach as Zeus jumped at her attacker and she could breath a little better. Artemis watched at the Captain took out one of the guys and then spoke to her. She looked at the pistal on the side table once more and grabbed for it. Artemis held it in her hand trying to remember how to use one without hurting herself and to get up the nerve to actually use it. She had never hurt another being, let along kill them so would she even be able to do it.

Artemis got to her knees letting the blanket slip from her grip and steady her aim on one of the men in black. She wasn't sure if this was the best idea but she made sure to chose a target that wasn't close to the Captain just in case she missed and fired. The man in the far corner dropped to the ground clutching his chest, Artemis had thought about shooting him in the head but she knew her aim wasn't the best so she chose a part of the guys body with a large area. 'He'll be down for a while' she thought to herself and focused the sights of the gun on another target.

Zeus finished with the one man and turned to see what else he could do. He jumped a bit at the sound of the pistol going off but jumped back up onto the bed to stand close to Artemis. Three men were down and three more stood before Justin.

Single combat was easy for Justin. One opponent, one sword. But against multiple swords it was always difficult to parry every blow. One of the men scored and cut to his left shoulder, cutting deep making the blood flow. But the three men were not realy in the mood for fighting much, now that three of their friends lay dead and a tiger was getting ready to spring again. None of them knew which one he was going to go for, which made them edgy and distracted.

Justin's sword found the heart of one of them and he went down, Zeus sprang from the bed onto another as the third turned to flee. Zeus was between Justin and the man, he turned his head to see what Artemis was going to do with the last shot in the pistol.

Artemis' heart was racing so fast that it was beginning to make her light headed and she could tell that her shots were going to be off. Everything was happening so fast, one moment Zeus was right next to her the next he was at the bottom of the bed with the Captain. Her eyes took the whole room in, briefly noticing that the Captain was now bleeding and Zeus was staring at her, probably waiting for her to do something. "Oh right" she said softly and set sights of the pistol on the last man standing threatening them. Artemis took a deep breath and squeezed the trigger.

The recoil pushed her back on the bed in a sitting position, she had too much time to relax and forgot how much recoil there was. However her eyes quickly moved to see where she had shot the guy and realized that her aim was directly at the temple. The man didn't seem to move for several seconds and then his body crumbled to the floor while Artemis still sat there with the pistol aimed at where the guy was standing.

The last of the attackers fell from the bullet fired by Artemis. The floor of the bedchamber was slick with blood and the bodies of the attackers. Justin heard the shouting and running of people and moved over to Artemis. He pulled a bathrobe from a hook on the wall and sat down on the bed and covered her with it. Taking the pistol from her, he asked, "Are you alrigtht."

Blood streamed down his arm from his wound as William with sword and pistol in hand came charging into the room. Two other men were behind him also armed with pistols. Zeus growled loudly at their entrance, but a word from Jason calmed him.

The feel of fabric on her skin helped to clear her head a little but it was hard to tear her eyes from all the crimson fluid that covered the room not to mention the Captain. Artemis was happy when the pistol was taken from her because it allowed her hands to relax and drop them down at her sides. She slowly nodded her head yes at his question before turning to look at him "I'm fi-" she started to say but cut her own words off.

Artemis' eyes went wide as she realized that the blood on the Captain was his own and not their attackers. "You're bleeding!" She exclaimed and shifted quickly on the bed to look at his wound. It was pretty deep but that could have been the running blood making it look worse. "You need to have that fixed up immediately" the nurturing side of her came through strongly. All that this guy did to her whether it was good or bad in her mind didn't matter at this moment and she wanted to make sure that he was going to be alright. It was one thing for their attackers to be dead because they had threatened the Captain and herself but it was a completely other thing for the Captain to die from protecting himself.

William's face went white as he saw the carnage in the room and especially the deep wound on Justin's shoulder. He quickly gave orders to the servants that hurried away to fetch the doctor and the authorities. He had Justin sit in a chair and had clean water and cloths brought in. He washed the wound and told Artemis to apply pressure to the wound over a clean cloth to help stop the bleeding.

Justin looked at Artemis smiling. "Pretty handy with a pistol." he told her and caressed her face. Zeus laid there next to the bed cleaning the blood from his fur by licking it off and rubbing his face with his wet paws.

William unmasked the men and looked over at Justin. "Assassins from the Assassins Guild. Some one paid a pretty price to have them try and kill you." He pointed to a small tatoo on the neck. "I thought that Guild had been eradicated long ago."

"Evidently not." Justin answered.

She was glad when she at least had something covering her body when everyone else came to the room, though thinking about it the Captain probably would have told her to deal with it or to be proud of her body but it still embarrassed her some. Artemis was just glad that the others were focused on the Captain right now instead of her. She followed William's direction and applied pressure to the Captain's wound with a clean rag. "Yes Assassins." Justin told her. "Hired killers, whose guild goes back before the Korian Kingdom was split in two. Most are highly skilled in what they do, these were not their best." When she asked why, he looked over at William and then the old man that took care of the grounds when he came in.

"Enemies. My family made some enemies over the years." he told her, "Could be one of many." But the look him and William exchanged said something else. He knew his heritage had alot to do with it.

The doctor arrived a short time later as did several men in uniform. The doctor smiled at Artemis and gently removed her hand from the cloth and then took a look. "That will need stiching up and you will have a nice scar." he opened his black bag and took out several things. First he cleansed the wound with anticeptic, applied a save to it then began sewing it up.

As the doctor worked one of the men in uniform asked questions of Justin. He kept his distance because of Zeus. When asked about the two that were shot, Justin said, "I shot them." It was best not to let them know that Artemis had done it. A slave was not allowed to use weapons. Even though they were assassins, she could be in big trouble for it. Usually death was the penalty. He was not about to lose her because she helped kill the assassins.

'What have I gotten myself into' Artemis thought to herself as she listened to the two talk, she didn't even miss their looks at each other and had so many other questions for them but kept her mouth shut...at least for now. Artemis gave a weak smile to the doctor when her hand was removed and walked away from them. There was nothing else that she could do and if she did do something they would probably yell at her. So instead she walked over to Zeus and sat next to him, the one being in their room that made her feel at ease. Artemis wanted to feel comfortable again especially since she was practically naked with so many men in the room.

She tried not to look up at the men as they talked about the situation and about opened her mouth to tell them that she kill the men but the Captain beat her to it. However she was confused by his response, why wouldn't he tell them that she killed them. It wasn't like she did it just because, she had been defending herself...well the Captain mostly so what was wrong with that. Artemis began petting the top of Zeus' head trying to figure out what was going on and what was going to happen from here.

Once the questions were answered and he had been stiched up and given pills to take to keep infection away from the wound, the bodies were removed and the people departed. Justin then moved over to sit next to Artemis. "I could see the question in your eyes when I told them I shot those two." He put his good arm about her, "if you had said you had shot them, they would have taken you away and executed you. Even though you were helping me, no slave is allowed to handle a weapon. It is punishable by death." Moving his other arm, giving him a bit of pain, he caressed her face. "That I was not willing to let happen to you, and thank you for helping."

He then stood and helped her to her feet and put the robe about her tying it in front. "Come I think another bed chamber will be needed to sleep in, until this one is cleaned of all the blood. Zeus followed them out to another bed chamber, smaller but still very comfortable.

Artemis was glad when the other people had left the room and she could breath a little easier. For some reason she didn't want to be around anyone else but the Captain and Zeus, most likely because they were the ones present when she had shot and kill two people. Her mind still couldn't get over that fact but the more she thought about it, the more she depressed herself. "Thank you" Artemis told him softly and got to her feet when he pulled her up.

Part of her wondered if he was still going to try and do something with her body or because of what happened that they could just go to bed. Artemis wasn't sure how well she was going to handle being touched like that and would preferred to just sleep. Once they were in another room Artemis couldn't see anything but the bed, she didn't care to notice anything else and wanted to bury herself in the blankets to shut out the world. "Um...wh-what's going to happen now?" She questioned with some hesitance in her voice.

"You have just had one hell of a scare and experience." Again he raised a hand to caress her face. "You are going to need sleep if you are able to stay asleep." he told her. "You killed two men tonight. It may not have hit you yet but it will." he was talking about how one felt after killing someone for the first time. One usually began to feel sick, perhaps have nightmares about it, until they delt with the fact that they had killed.

He helped her to the bed and had her lay down and he covered her with the blankets. He then bent down and kissed her cheek. "I am going to be here with you should you have nightmares."

Zeus plunked himself down on the floor by her side of the bed. "See even Zeus will be here as well."

Artemis was thankfully to be lying down before she fell over and stared up at the Captain. He was right about things not hitting her but in the back of her mind she knew it was there, it just wasn't coming forward. "I was wrong..." she told him and blushed a little bit as he kissed her to comfort her.

Her eyes followed Zeus and watched as he laid next to the bed, that made Artemis feel better knowing that even Zeus was going to stay inside with them. Maybe he could sense if something else were to happen before it got too intense. She looked back at the Captain trying to put a smile on her face but it wasn't working "...I was wrong about you" Artemis told him and then snuggled into the blankets hoping to get some sleep.

Justin smiled at her comments and kissed her cheek again. "You get some sleep." Justin let her fall asleep and laid down next to her after undressing. There would be time enough for him to continue where he had left off. There was no rush but the desire to feel her naked body against his and to squeeze her tits and more was getting stronger. She was wrong, sleep wasn’t better for her because all she saw was crimson fluid splashing on walls and bodies lying lifeless before her feet. Soft words resounded through the room, telling her what a horrible person she was and as the words got louder she even started repeating them. Almost like she believed the words. Artemis turned onto her other side hoping to get comfortable in her subconscious however no relief came. Harsh words assaulted her ears, dry blood stained her body and she just stood there. What could she do? When she opened her mouth nothing came out, she wanted to scream badly but the thought of doing that scared her. Where was Zeus? Where was the Captain? Would they rescue her, would someone rescue her?

Artemis rolled over one more time in a fit on the bed only to be confronted by a warm sensation on her face. Her eyes shot open, half expecting to see another body drop before her as blood sprayed on her face but what she saw calmed her heart. “Morning Zeus” she said softly and snaked a hand out of the covers to pet his head. Her dream still fresh in her mind keeping her from looking around the room, she was too afraid that her dream was real and she would see those haunting glassy eyes staring at her.

She continued to stare at Zeus until the large cat bounced away from her and towards a different direction. That caused her to slowly shifted her head to see the Captain sitting there drinking coffee and there were no bodies or blood in the room. She took a small breath before sitting up to look at the Captain “Good-” her voice partially cracked forcing her to clear her throat “Good morning.”
