Nicholas looks at her with a smile. He says calmly turning on his side to look at her, "Yeah they started school while you were gone. They really love it. I am that they like it. But I do worry about their social skills. They don't teach those online." He kisses her forehead gently and says, "I will not go in your room. I still don't want to leave my bed."

"Well they socialise with us and other children so I'm sure they'll be ok but maybe trips would be a good idea as well, like to the zoo when it's safer for them?" she suggested before heading downstairs. She sorted out the preparation before coming back up "You really do just want to lie in bed huh?" she shook her head, she'd just and a shower before coming back to the room drying her hair still. "Hmm might need to get a hair cut, it's getting too long" she said fingering a few pieces of hair in her fingers. She sat down on the bed and finished drying her hair before looking to him for a moment as if she wanted to say something but shook it off. Keita thought something just seemed a little odd. How he got more effected than she did by the tests and also a strange lump under her skin since she got back but just put it down to her being tired after staying up for so long. "Anyway, how old will you be turning again? I don't think i ever asked your exact age to be honest"

Nick could see the questions in her eyes. “I was affected more than because I cannot adapt as quickly as you. I also was taking most of the pain so you could survive.” He lies on his bed watching her. He gives her a huff, “If you could get away with it, you would not get out of bed too.” He gets up and braids her hair. “I will be 23.”

Keita laughs "Hmm true I would stay in bed if I could all day" she said as he began braiding her hair, another thing he did in the past when her hair had been far longer than it was now. "and you still like braiding my hair?" she smiled "so my guess was right, you're two, three years older than me" Keita tried not to fidget so much. "Thank you Nick, for many things" when he did finish she brought some of the braids forward looking at them "How on earth did you get better at them after all these years?" she frowned, she still couldn't braid her hair very well and had wanted to try it war one point which is how him braiding her hair had started.

Nick smiles some and says, “I have always liked braiding your hair Kat. It always stops you from cutting it.” He liked her long hair and her free spirit. He says as she thanked him, “There is no reason to thank me. I have always looked out for you.” He kisses her throat. “And I always will.” He then goes to get dressed and cleaned up even though he still wanted to be in bed.

Keita frowned a little "But at a certain length it does get in the way" she said bluntly. although half the time she did just cut it herself anyway with her dagger. "Well it's to thank you for looking out for me for such a long time" turning around just as he was getting dressed she quickly turned away as her cheeks heated up to a bright red cherry colour "Umm, I'll be in the kitchen ok?" she said heading downstairs rather quickly and took a few deep breaths before she sorted out plates and the rest of dinner for the children.

Nick chuckles and says softly once she had left, “She acts like she has never had a man in her bed.” He finishes getting around and greets the children as they finish up their schooling for the day. They wanted to play outside but it was still not safe, but he did show them his gift to them. The indoor playground. They went nuts and had fun as they played on the swing set.

Keita finished up dinner a few hours later and call them inside noticing Nick was there with them. "Looks like they're enjoying it" she smiled at him "Anyway, come on you lot dinner is ready" she shouted and they soon looked a little glum "You can come and play afterwards and I've made muffins for dessert" she said. Keita had gotten into the habit of cooking for them once again.

On of the older girls noticed her braids and asked about them "Huh? oh Nick did them, he's been doing them for me since we were little" she said "Why?" Keita shifted "because I'm not very good at braids and he doesn't want me to cut my hair" she said

Nick helps her with children and then eats quickly and quietly. He was glad that the kids liked his gift to them. This way they could have fun and get their needed exercise safely. He looks at the sun for a moment and says to Kat, “The kids need to go to bed early. They are going to try again tonight.” He sees the mini welt on her back. “Did they jab something into you?”

Keita nodded "Ok then, well let them play a little longer before bed ok?" she said softly and raising an eyebrow she looked a little confused "I'm not sure but if you're talking about that lump I've had it since I got back, thought it might just be me though" she took another bite form her meal and thought for a moment "Hmm, wait moment I have a bad thought on this, Nick since were not linked at the moment you won't feel my pain right? If so I want you to cut it open, I don't know why but I'm just getting a bad feeling"

Nicholas looks at the lump on her back. That was not something you got from not sleeping right. He says, "I will look at that after everyone is done eating." Something was not right here. But it clearly was not a GPS tracker. Otherwise it would be flashing a red or green color underneath the skin. But that did not comfort him very well. They were being tracked and that made him more edgy.

Keita nodded and finished her own dinner before she began putting children's plates in the dishwasher as they finished their own dinner. Once everyone was finished she headed upstairs to get her dagger before passing it to him "Don't worry I keep it sterile" she said to him, still nervous about being cut open by her own dagger but trusted him to be careful.

Nick looks at the dagger a moment and says, “This going to be uncomfortable.” He has her lay down and he slowly cuts into the lump. He could feel that there was something inside the lump. He cuts a little deeper and he hits a little microchip. He uses the blade to slide it out. He then helps her heal before taking a closer look at the little microchip. He could tell that it had duplicated but he did not pick up anymore in her body.

Keita winced and tensed up a little as he cut into her skin. when it was out and she was healed she rolled onto her back and sat up looking at it and then him "What is it?" she asked "as in what are you thinking?" she asked him curiously noticing that something was wrong.

Nick looks at her a moment and says, “This is a monitor chip. It monitors changes in the body. It can also duplicate as well and by the look of it, it has but not in you.” He then starts to trace his own body. The little device he was using beeped when it came to his neck. He turns away from her and uses his nail to remove it from his neck.

Keita looked to him when he started to scratch his neck and sighed "Here let me help" she said making him stay still and carefully did a small slit with her hidden blades and got the chip out "There that should be it" she said holding it on her finger and looking to him. "want to mess with them?"

Nicholas looks at the two microchips a moment and says, "They are getting to be very very dangerous. These are just monitors but next time it could be GPS trackers they implant in you next. We have to be more careful and try not to get caught. We do not want to keep endangering the children." At her offer to mess with the scientists he got a little smile on his face. "Whenever you say that we are going to mess with someone, it use to get us in a whole lot of trouble. So what are we doing this time?"

Keita looked to him "Very simple really, we find a couple and plant it on them" she said to him grinning a little "They won't know any different and what would be even better if their tourists" she smiled. "Well then shall we go and find some?" she asked. When they decided she moved outside and looked around "See any?" she asked him looking through the crowds for a good target. Also since peoples would be getting drunk it'd be even easier for them

Nicholas looks at the group of people trying to find the right set of people. He says spotting the perfect couple, "Easy target." He pants the microchips on their bodies knowing that the microchips would pick up on the bodies' signals. He walked back to her acting like a person who was just walking down the street. He was calm about it like he had done it his whole life.

Keita smiled a little and walked with him smiling a little "I would love to see their faces when they notice it's not us with the chips" she kissed his cheek and headed back with him. "Also one more thing, on your birthday I want you to meet me in the greenhouse ok?" she said to him "Don't ask any questions just say you'll meet me there after the children are in bed ok?" she asked making sure he'd come. Hiding the excitement she was feeling since it was the first time she'd have done something like this for another person but was also nervous about it as well. She hoped it would go well and wondered what the others had planned as well, reminding herself to check up on the plans to. Once they were back she headed to her rom and changed into some more comfortable clothes before helping with last minute things before it was bed time.

Nicholas looks at her and kisses her forehead. He says stroking her cheek, "You have my word. But I don't know if it will be possible to get them to go to bed if they find out that it is my birthday." He walks back with her to the orphanage. He was already tired again. Maybe him feeling tired all the time because of the changing and his emotional state.

Having quickly become a habit or returning to his room when it came time to sleep she waited for him to be ready before coming in and settling on the bed waiting for him. "Everything ok?" she asked softly yawning a little as she propped herself up on her elbows. She'd become unaware of her habit too, it tended to only register in the morning. "Well I can always ask the others to help out with that and it doesn't matter if they know, it'll be good for everyone" she smiled when and if he joined her. Kissing him softly goodnight she lay there beside him, moving a hand to hold his until the morning.

(Heading to bed now so goodnight)

Nicholas looks at her with a smile and he watches her get into his bed. She was fun to watch. Her habits have not changed since she was a little girl. He says to her, "I have been tired. I have not been able to sleep since the experiments. Now I suddenly can sleep. I am a little worried about the effects of this last change." He lays down in bed with her and holds her in his arms.

"Might've been something to do with the chip, must've passed through our link a the time maybe?" she suggested. "Or maybe when you're body was rebuilding it's self you used so much energy that now you need to sleep everyday for a period of time?" trying to figure out other possibilities for this problem. "Look, I'm sure it'll sort itself out later on, might just be a side effect" clearly rather sleepy as she thought about the fact he was sleeping now.
"Hmmm, I still think it might have to do with the chip that got rid of your insomnia" she said giving a small yawn "But it can't be worse than what happened to you not long ago so we'll figure out what's causing it in the morning" she said just before she drifted off in his arms.

Nicholas watches her sleep for a little while thinking about their past. Would they ever stop being hunted? Not likely to happen. The scientists put a lot of money into them. But he is not going to stop fighting to make this endless cycle stop. He cuddles into her and goes to sleep. He would protect her from anything until his dying breath. That was his vow.
