Andrew and the Nurse did a lot of the work and managed to bring down the inflammation not completely but enough so that Nick wouldn't be in so much pain when breathing. He washed up and then headed to his room but as usual he stayed up for a good few hours after encase he was needed again.

Keita was being reassured by Sora who looked to Nate as he entered and listened "Is he really ok at the moment" Keita rose to her feet "Rest, geez, you need to relax more ok, he's fine let him recover and I have no doubt you'll be the first person he calls" she said to her sister and ruffled her wings and hair. She headed back to their room and began writing down a lot of things on bits of paper, she was doing erg own investigation as to what was going on with their bodies and also how to stop nanobots, she'd found a few ways but they were all potentially dangerous.

Nate looked at the girls a moment before speaking calmly, "Both of us need to rest. I will be doing more tests in the lab if you need me." He went the lab and did as many tests as he could. He found that the nanotechnology was adapting to every host rabidly and its design changed as well. He then began to tinker with technology to maybe override it and make it benifical to the host instead of deadly. Over the next three weeks and Nick was not improving but he was not getting worse either. He would rarely wake up long enough to eat before passing out again.

Neither of the sisters were much better, Sora appeared to have retreated to old habits at times by ending up more than once sleeping for a whole day. She did visits Nate in the lab and saw what he was up to but one day came up to a theory. "We've all been sleeping a lot.. minus you obviously but… maybe the nanobots only work when we're awake, think that's possible, Nick hasn't been getting enter or arose and he's been sleeping nearly all day" she said sleepily. She was sitting in a spare chair in there and waited for hi response. "We really do need to try and figure this out and I've told you many times that I'll help out instead of Nick since he pretty much can't in his state" Keita was looking after Nick but she too was sleeping an awful lot.

Nathan looks at her and says quietly, "He is not getting worse because we took a lot out of him. Everytime I visit him I take a sample of his blood. The nanotechnology is slowed down. His body has a fighting chance now. His immune system is going into overdrive to protect him. Kat will just have to give him more time. He is trying his best. And it seems that you guys are getting better the more you rest. So I suggest you guys do some sleeping a little more."

"She's just worried Nathan, I'd most likely be the same waif it was you" she said to him, I've told her that anyway so she's just making sure he's comfortable is all" she said giving a yawn and settled down in the chair "and I've slept enough also didn't you get the same thing as your brother if the link was opened?" she questioned him. "If so that means you need to rest some as well silly boy" she said and kissed his cheek gently. She then moved herself a little before she got up from her seat "Well good luck I better get back to bed for the time being, I'm getting sleepy again" she said and kissed him softly before heading back to bed.

Nathan watched her go to bed as he did not want to bother her. He had also noticed something else in his blood. A mutation stronger than anything he had ever seen. The nanotech was becoming part of that mutation. Becoming living cells.

Within a few more weeks Nicholas was out and about. Feeling better than ever. But he wasn't talking much. He was raw inside. He was not quite right but he was well again.

After the next few weeks when Nick was up and about the twins were getting better although Sora was still prone to napping in the day time due to the amount of energy it took for her to recover Keita was up and about and cooking for people again although she was careful about things as well and did need to rest every now and then.

Keita found Nick later on "It really is good to see you up and about" she smiled "Want to go sit outside for a bit, should be safe enough at the moment." she said noting Sora had fallen asleep on the roof now that she could reach high places also it meant she could keep watch since she was a fairly light sleeper when she had her naps.

Sora later on went to find Nathan "Nate, you need to rest already" she frowned at him. "Let do something together ok?" she said to him and looked at what eh was doing "Hmm, what's that?" she asked pointing to the mutation he was looking at.

Nicholas looked at her unsure what to say. It took him a few minutes to speak. Almost like he had forgotten how. "Sure we can go outside for a bit. But we have to be careful. The labs are still looking for these kids and us." He was kind of surprised by his own voice. His throat felt raw like he had been gargling pieces of glass in his throat for 3 years straight.

Nathan showed her the mutations more clearly. He says, "I found this in my brother's blood. It has like his body has adapted to make the nanotechnology into living cells. Even now he still has nano technology in his body. But instead of making him weak like they designed to do, they're actually starting to make him stronger. Although I have noticed that he is suffering from function loss. His speech is suffering. It takes him longer to think and he isn't as responsive as his normal self would be."

Keita looked to him and waited, she'd gotten used to him taking longer to speak and hearing his voice was a little hoarse she told him to wait there and came back with some milk "SHould coat your throat, easier to talk for you that way" she smiled and kissed him softly before hand. "Just five minutes shouldn't be too long and isn't their a field up around this place?" she asked him and took his hand once he'd finished and lead him outside breathing in the fresh air and lying down in the grass.

"That's interesting and I think Keita has noticed but she doesn't care." she smiled "she's most likely used to it because of me, I have to think before I speak normally although it does improve with time and practice so after maybe a few years he'll be back to speaking normally" she said to him "But i only hope he's really ok?"

Nicholas drank the milk and followed her outside. He didn't say a word it was too difficult for him to speak. While all of them thought that he was just speaking slower because of all the stuff he has been through. He was actually fighting to control his own body. Learning all over again to do the simple things. Like his body has gone through a reboot. His mind was as fast as ever. His body was not able to keep up.

Nathan looks at the screen. He says, "By the look of this, he won't improve. He won't get better. What we've got now is the best we're going to get out of him." He was upset by this and his voice was cracking. "It's all my fault."

Keita nudged him gently and thought for a moment watching how he was acting almost seemed like he was a baby. "Nick, just nod or shake your head ok?" she said to him as if something had clicked "Are you struggling to control your body, your movements are a lot clumsier than before" she asked him "Don't get upset I'm just trying to figure out what going on just like you" she said to him.

Sora moved and kneeled in front of him looking up to Nate "Nate it's not your fault and there is always a way to help, there must be" she said and kissed both of his eyes before looking straight into them. "Well shall we get to work?" she asked. "The nanobots can learn, they learned to adapt to his body almost like their rebooting it first… so we need to help him get through that first." she said "or we can try and find a liquid that will deactivate the nanobots, there is bound to be something since they never make something without having an antidote so to speak" she said to Nate trying to give him hope and she knew there must be a way in which they would help Nick.

Nick looks at her listening closely to what she was saying to him. He nods slowly when she asked him if he was struggling to control his body. He says slowly, “Mind is working fine. Body just can’t keep up.” He tries showing her what he means but trying to hold her hand. She could easily feel every muscle in his hand and arm tense up painfully to commit this gentle act for her.

Nate looks at the data that he has gathered by each blood sample he got from Nick. “His body is slowly changing the nanotech but it is not fast enough. That is why it may be so hard for him to move. Maybe if we create something that can help speed up the process?”

Keita closed her eyes and could feel the way each muscle in his hand and arm tensed so painfully. She looked to him afterwards and hugged him tightly before she kissed him. "It's ok, I'm sure it can only get better, your body is most likely just adjusting so I'm sure it'll be ok in time" she said to him and hugged him tightly moving his arms for him to rest around her as well.

Sora smiled and nodded "Well then we should get to work, I might not be as good as Nick but I can help as much as I can, well first of all we should learn a bit more about what gets the body working and what gets the nanobots working. We might be able to find something in both that makes it work and then we can see if that makes it work faster, we can use some of the nanobots in my blood if we need to but we are not using Nick until we have something that'll work to help at least." she said bluntly.

Nick does his best to hold her close as he could feel how much this upset her despite her brave face. Meanwhile in a lab in New Orleans, scientists are watching Nick’s every move through the nanotech. One says to a fat one, “This is perfect. In a matter of hours we will have full control of the subject. Then we will be able to wipe out all the older subjects and retrieve the young ones.” The fat one says with a laugh, “And the fun part is that the subject’s mind will be forced to watch it all!”

Nate looks at her a moment, “And what if it makes you as bad as Nick?” He was clearly against using her to test their findings out on. He rapidly starts to do new tests after getting a few samples of her blood. He says, “This is going to bug me until we figure this out…”

Keita looked to him and kissed him once again, it upset her more that she couldn't do anything to help but try to comfort him. She stayed close to him outside in the garden for much longer than planned. "If you feel something bad is happening to you then tell me somehow, you don't need to use words but through the link you can tell me still, that shouldn't take much effort since that's through the mind not the body" she smiled at him.

"I said the nanobots in my blood fi you take blood samples there is bond to be some in my blood I'm sure although…I have a feeling they might not be alive in mine or Keita's bodies… after all I have fire in my body so fi they get o close to wherever that fire is they would over heat and deactivate with Keita it's more like they'd stop working due to the water in hers." she said and then something clicked "If they knew we'd get to powerful and we'd escape then how'd they know if we died or were ill?" she asked him.

Nicholas says to her in her head, "I know that something bad is happening to me but there is nothing that I can do to stop it. Something is going on. We need to be careful. Don't let your guard down no matter what is going on. I need you to break the link between the two of us. Just in case something goes wrong. Or I try to hurt you. I don't want to hurt you."

Nathan looks at the samples of her blood and agrees with her on most of what she is saying. He says to her, "What if you and your sister are not the kind of the targets of nanotech? What if you and your sister were just the carriers of the technology until it could get to its proper host?"

"All the more reason to keep the link, that way I can keep in contact with your mind even if your body isn't listening." she said to him "That way if something does go wrong you can warn me" she said to him and hugged him tightly.

Sora looked to him and thought, "If it's me and Keita then the intended hosts are either you or…Nick…" she paused… "Nate, I hate to say this but we need to get him out of here and away from the kids… there is something not right if the intended host is Nick I doubt they'd want to destroy him…they'd want to use him, he's like their ultimate creation if you think about it as are you although not as many have transferred to you since most were burnt off pretty quickly by my wings since I overheated my body." she frowned. "We need to get him away from here and somewhere else so we can deal with him but first we need to hurry and find a way to deactivate them or make them work with him so he can control them, either way we ca't let them start controlling him." she said, it was all fitting into place now… easiest way to get close to a potentially dangerous man is to use a woman who can stand up to him and is close to him in other words Keita or Sora.

Nicholas looks at her before making his way back inside the orphanage. He did not want to be outside anymore. He did not feel comfortable knowing that he could very well become a weapon against the woman he loved.

Nathan looks at her a moment before agreeing with her. He goes to gather some things around to help keep Nicholas occupied so that when he was activated, they would be safe for the time being. He really did not like the idea of having to fight his own brother. Possibly kill him.

Sora looked to Nate "We won't have to kill him but… if we at least get some anethstic ready encase we have to put him to sleep for a while so we can work on a way to help him if we don;t find something in time, we need to give it to Keita so she can monitor him to" she said to Nate "Plus I don't think even I could kill him, he's almost like a brother in law already eh way those two are going" she laughed and kissed Nate's cheek, "I'll tell Andrew to give enough to Keita and then we can both work on finding a way to deactivate the nanobots" she said to him softly to reassure him as best she could.

She told Andrew and on minutes later he called in the pair and explained everything he had been told. "This can deactivate his body and delay the nanobots but it won't rid him of them but it'll prevent it for a good while, maybe 12 hours at the most and I'll make a second batch today as well. Nick, Nate and Sora are working on a way to deactivate the nanobots or destroy them. Just trust in them and Keita you sure you'll be ok?" "I'm still a trained assassin dealing with Nick is no problem" she said and kept the liquid on her and close at hand so she could easily get him with it.

Nate looks at Sora and says, “Even if we do manage to subdue him, we can’t guarantee that they won’t keep trying to turn him into their weapon.” Once everything is settled, both boys seem to keep to themselves. Both contemplating what they are going to do. Hours later into the night, Nick feels his body light up like fire as his body became stiff as a board. His body moves away from Kat. His body was moving as fast as it could but it was growing stronger. Nick says to Kat in her head, “Please run away!”

Keita looked to him and knocked him over which was easy with he's body being so stiff. She used the liquid to knock him out and interrupt the signals to the nabobs and texted Sora… "Ok it's started how far are we?" she asked Nate, she was working on figuring out what would work to deactivate them "We need either extreme heat or an over load of water to destroy them, but I don't want to risk Burning or drowning him." she sighed. "Anyway this would be a good time to move him at least, Keita can deal with him for the time being, we have an old apartment the labs don't know about so he can be taken there for the time being if you think it's be an idea. Also we better tell the kids to stay in their room or do we have  back up for emergencies since this does seem to be one"

Disrupting the signals to the nanobots from the laboratory didn't work for long. Within minutes Nicholas's body was moving again. This time faster and a lot less stiff. A sword appears in his hand and he is forced to blindly attack Kat. Meanwhile inside Nick's head Nick was doing all he could to slow down his body's movement so he could not hurt her. He says to Kat, "Tell my brother that the technology is learning to stay powered and control my body. Disrupting the signals is not going to work on them for very long."

Keita nodded and texted Sora who told Nate. "Ok we need to find a way to destroy them, what have you got so far?" she asked Nate while still working on something else. "Keita lead him to that room ok, I have a plan" she said. "There is a room under this place,e probably here long beforehand and I found a way down, keep his attention on you got it" she said to Keita who nodded blocking or dodging most of the attacks but she and more than a few close calls. She found a way down to the room and got him to follow her keep his attention, their attention on her. She then locked them both in the underground room. She kept him occupied and made sure to maintain her energy levels. "Nick can you still hear me?" she questioned him "If you can then I will not let your body leave this room, those two are working on something now so please try to fight against it as well if you can" she said. Sora looked over to Nate "Well anything?" she asked him. "I've tried to harness the heat inside where my wings store their flames but… they might burn him alive if it's too strong a dosage and I have no idea if it'll even work so do you have anything?"

Nate was doing everything he could to focus and come up with a new plan to keep Nick from killing them and the children. "We cannot boil him or temporary drown him. He heals too quickly. Balls of fire will not burn him very long. His body would adapt to the water and just come after us swinging. We need a option the required to go through his mind instead of the body. Something that will shock his system enough for him to go through a full reboot. That should allow him to regain control over his own body."

Nicholas's body kept attacking her without remorse without rest. And it was gaining control over him. He was having a harder time slowing down his movements so that she could block and dodge. "I am doing the best I can. But I can't keep it up for much longer. I feel like I'm fading."

Sora listened "So we need to get it to Keita, she can send it over their link, she's still kept in in tact to contact his mind" she said to him thinking. Keita kept him occupied and at the same time she tried to keep his mind working and clear at least the best she could while telling her sister for them to both hurry up. She made her own movements quicker and made sure he stayed as far from the door as possible. "Sora, you and Nate better hurry up" she growled a little and used the hidden blades she had reequipped in order to help with blocking and keeping him as bay.
