Doc looked over, hearing something... Mera... moving a bit... whimpering... He felt bad... wishing he could help... but he doubted she would like that...

Daniel slept a bit troubled... wondering... would he see people that he would rather not? Would he be safe there with his new family?

Mera dreamt of her past, a happy scene that quickly spiraled into a nightmare. She changed back to human form and clenched her belly as she whimpered.

Lith awoke hearing a noise, she sat up and looked to the sound, Mera was crying in her sleep. She lay naked and shaking. Lith stood and walked to Mera's side. "Shhh... it's ok my love. First night away from home is scary. Open your eyes Mera" Lith said softly seeing Doc look her way. Being a physician Lith looked to him, "Have anything to help her sleep?" she asked.

Mera opened her eyes to see Lith hugging her and Doc looking at her. She wiped her tears and looked away. "I'm sorry, I just had a bad dream" she said quietly.

Daniel woke as well... feeling Lith stir. He sat up a bit, rubbing his eyes, watching what was going on.

Doc approached Mera. "I do have things that will help her sleep... but that wouldn't help the nightmares..." he said. He knew the best way would be to comfort her... let her know that she was safe here. "What... was your dream about? Maybe you will feel better telling us." Doc offered.

Mera felt herself shake a little as Doc spoke, all her problems seemed to run away when his velvet voice flooded her ears. "My... My dream..." she said trying not to look at him. She looked to Lith still unable to tell anyone of her past yet "It's just a dream" she said.

Doc was trying to avoid any thoughts entering his mind... the woman naked at his feet. "It's alright then if you don't want to tell us about it... want someone to stay with you until you fall back asleep?" he asked. Thinking of her as a patient right now.

"I might go take a walk" she said slipping out of Lith's arms and changing again. Her body shifting into the change like she was naturally a wolf. She looked back at Doc and Lith then took off into the dark.

Lith looked to Doc and then Daniel "She's got scars... ones we cannot see" she said with a sigh.

Daniel moved over to join them... "What do you mean?" Daniel asked. Sadly Doc knew... he kept quiet. He sighed lightly. "She is a great person..." he said. "I hope that... things will turn out well for her." he said. Obvious that more was on his mind.

Lith placed her hand on Doc's shoulder "brings back memories doesn't it" she said, Lith and Doc had been together for some time and knew well of each others past lives. "She'll be back, she just needs to clear her mind".

Doc nodded. "I know..." he said. Daniel looked to Lith curiously. "What do you mean though... scars that we cannot see... too much on her mind?" he asked. Doc frowned lightly. "She reminds me so much... of my old wife..." he said looking down lightly. "Too much at times..." he said.

Lith turned to Daniel "She's emotionally scared Daniel... The loss of a child and life" she said looking at Doc for a second then back to Daniel. "I know she does, I know you will be wise in your actions around her" she said rubbing his shoulder "It's hard for you and her, If it gets to much Doc... I can and will send her away" she said looking straight into his eyes.

Daniel nodded... he understood now... what had happened with her... similar to what had happened to them... a loss... he pitied her... wondering what her story was. Doc sighed lightly, looking back into Lith's eyes. "I will be smart around her... I don't... want to be reminded too much of the life I left behind..." he said somewhat sadly. "But... I could never ask for her to leave... I wouldn't want that. She is hurting from a loss as well... now is not a time for her to be without others in her life." he said.

"I know you will my friend." she said. "But if she leaves there will be no more pain of memories. I knew this could be a problem when I saw her. She looks like Maria doesn't she" she said very quietly knowing she was hitting a soft spot. "She has a life back in town, she can return there if need be" Lith said. "You my friend are still healing and I don't want your scars to split open. With the Doc down how will Daniel ever keep out of trouble?" she asked with a laugh.

Doc laughed lightly. "Yes... I know... Someone has to tend to the pup's wounds." he said with a small chuckle. Daniel smiled lightly, finding it funny. "I know she has another life... but..." he said. "and I know that she can return when she wants too... but still..." he said. "She reminds me of her...yes... but in a good way." he said. "Yes pain is brought up... but also joy." he said.

"Pups" She said with a laugh. "I understand. Well do what you must. But be sure you know what you are doing" she said. "Where there is joy there is always Pain" she said.

Doc nodded. "Yes... but the reverse can also be true." he said moving back... wondering if he should go check on Mera... no... maybe not... she had to sort things out in her head... him there wouldn't help.

Daniel nodded. "Remember... the pack is behind you Doc... behind all of us. If you need any help with anything, talk to someone..." he said. Doc nodded.

"Doc, Get some sleep. I'll go see her" she said. "Daniel you stay here also" she said. She turned changed and took off after Mera.

Mera could smell Lith before she arrived. "I'm sorry I just needed space. The dreams aren't easy" she said. "...I am reminded of things..." she said without mentioning Doc. She wondered what he through of her now. Weak. The boys had been good around Mera but she knew they all thought of her in different ways.

Daniel nodded. "Alright love... but I'm waiting up for you... I can't sleep without knowing you are alright." he said. After she turned and ran off Daniel sighed. "I swear... that girl will be the death of me... god I love her so much." he said sitting down where they were sleeping last.

Doc smiled, and walked to go to sleep... he couldn't... he changed and laid down... curled up... pretending to sleep, but watching for their return.

After some time the two returned and found their way back to sleep. Lith headed back to Daniel and curled up with him to sleep. Lith looked to Doc before she closed her eyes and tried to sleep again.

Mera stayed in the shadows to hide herself, she felt a little embarrassed. Some of the boys looked at her and stared for a moment then looked away. She curled up and went back to sleep.

Doc didn't notice Lith's eyes his way, he only looked lightly to Mera... his tired eyes calling him to dreams. Still, she had returned. He yawned lightly before closing his eyes fully... the last thing he seen before resting was Mera... he was worried about her... and himself...

The morning was a relief to all. Mera dressed and cleaned herself up. Lith and Daniel helped pack things up. "Where do we go today?" she asked. She worried about Daniel and the trip they were taking. Also on her mind was Mera's haunting past and Doc's sudden change in behavior.

Daniel looked about. "We start heading for the shore... there is a port town we can reach... We can buy passage to the island." he said. "That much won't be hard at least." he said. "Besides... we are not too pressed for time." he said. "Save for our young ones..." he said with a warm smile. In truth, he wanted to return... he was just afraid.

Doc rose in the morning... Changing back to his human form, he stretched and dressed with the others. He looked over to Mera... looking to see if she was waking as well.

Mera had packed her things. She pulled Lith aside and talked with her.

Lith looked to Daniel. "You all right love?" she asked. "Mera is just as shifty about this place we are going to than what you are... She lived there before her rebirth." she said. "Do you remember her?"she asked. "She had a hard time... I'll talk to you about this later" she said.

"Alright..."Daniel said. "But... I don't know... I don't remember much of that place..." he managed to say. It was true... He spent a while there... a lot of his life... but he didn't know many people there, nor did he remember a lot. He was popular around a specific town, Darnal... but other than that, he didn't know much.

Lith lent in close and whispered in his ear "Do you recall a women, with child reported missing and later dead after a mysterious wolf attack?" she asked. "I know her story..." she said "It's not pleasant." she said looking at Mera and Doc. "She was ok till she saw us, we brought it all back for her, she wants to live as a shifter but she has to get over the dreams first." she said.

Mera looked around the pack then down at the ground as she packed up her herbs and clothes. She sat by the dead fire.

Daniel could then recall what she was talking about. He remembered his father warning him about something like this. "Aye... now I do... but... I wasn't that old at all. It is very hazy. I was maybe seven or eight years old." he said. "My father told me to watch our for wolves... never go into the forest alone after that... I remember because I wasn't allowed to play close to the forests after that." he said. Daniel looked to Mera... he knew who she was now... maybe she remembered him... or at least his father...

Doc moved over to Mera... watching her as she began to pack. It too k him a moment... but he managed to work up the courage to talk to her a bit... maybe cheer her up a little. "Mind if I help? I've been curious as to what herbs you use?" he said trying to start a small conversation maybe.
