Re: The Prince of Evil
She was confused to see Anubis attack the Hunter. Riley thought this fight was between her and the hunter... but, she wouldn't complain. The more he attacked, the longer she could stay away from the silver. She made herself collapse to the ground when she heard the gunshot, glad to feel that nothing hit her. She stood up right away, ignoring the fact that he had ignored her question about what he wanted with her. It was pretty obvious, yes, but she often used conversation to delay the kill... to ready herself for something she hated doing. As Anubis was circling the Hunter, she closed in on him, trying to catch him when he wasn't looking at her. She would then jump onto his back, and try to grab the gun from him.

Re: The Prince of Evil
Anubis growled and snarled as he circled the Hunter, keeping his distance from the Katana. The Gun lay on the ground at the mans feet. His sudden attack had startled the man and he had managed to cause the man to drop the weapon. So impersonal guns, he thought. Kill at a distance and not up close and personal where you could smell the fear, the sweat, and blood of your opponet. Also you could look him in the eye as you fought him. How he missed those days of battle with a sword in hand. The killing, slaughter, the sheer enjoyment of it all.
He could see the woman approaching cautiously. It was as if he had fogotten about her as he tried to keep Anubis from again leaping upon him. He backed away a bit and gave the Hunter something to chill his bones and heart. He changed back into his human form and chuckled evily. "I think you have picked the wrong day to hunt, hunter." he grinned as he saw the expression of the mans face. "You found two of us instead of one."
When he said that the hunter turned quickly and his sword in her direction. Anubis shook his head and in the next moment was beside the man, a hand on the wrist that held the sword. "Bad move." he said as he applied pressure to it causing the sword to fall from his hand. Anubis then pushed the man towards the woman. "He is all yours my dear." He then put a hand to his wounded arm and shook his head. "Damn I liked this coat too." as he brought his bloodied hand from it.

Re: The Prince of Evil
Riley wasn't sure of what was going through Anubis' head, but at least he had removed the silver from the hunter. It was now a fair fight, but she was expecting to have fought this guy by herself. As soon as the hunter was pushed toward her, she swung a fist as hard as she could at his head, aiming for the soft spot beside the eye so that he'd be knocked out cold, then she could just use the gun to finish the job quickly.

Re: The Prince of Evil
Anubis watched as the woman swung her fist at the man. The Hunter, recovered enough to turn his head so her fist just brushed the side of his head. Anubis was some what impressed. Though he had disarmed the man he had managed to cut him, something that had not been done in some time. Now he had managed to recover quickly and avoid a blow from the woman that he was sure would have knocked him out cold. The hunter spun on a heel and extended a leg to try and knock her off her feet. Anubis smiled, now it was a fair fight. "Try not to damage the coat my dear, It will replace my coat that he has ruined." he took his coat off and looked at his arm. The shirt was soaked in his blood and had a cut down the length of the upper arm. The wound would heal soon enough. It had already sealed itself. He spotted a box and sat down on it to watch.

Re: The Prince of Evil
Riley used the momentum she had built up from the punch to do a weird kinda roll that looked something like a somersault gone wrong but landed perfectly on all fours, facing the Hunter again. Somehow, she had managed to roll in the direction of where the hunter had dropped his gun. Without missing a beat, she pushed herself back up, and picked the gun up all in one movement, and shot at him. The hunter was on the move, so she aimed to where his head would be in half a second, and pulled the trigger twice for good measure. She hated cheating, but sometimes it just had to be done. She didn't have the patience to put on a show for somebody, so she just wanted this battle done with.

Re: The Prince of Evil
Anubis raised a brow as she made a roll came up with the hunter's gun and fired off two shots. The first went a bit wide but the second caught the man's head. He flew back and up against the wall of one of the buildings making up the ally and slid down to the ground. "Now that was not fair my lovely thing. I was hoping for a real knock down drag out fight." he rose from where he was sitting and went over to the dead hunter and pulled his leather trench coat off and put it on. Then he picked up the katana and slid it into the special sheath within the coats interior.
"You know they don't hunt alone that often. There is probably another out there waiting. " he grinned evily and a bit mischeviously, "Perhaps you should come with me."

Re: The Prince of Evil
Riley locked the gun and tossed it toward the man, not caring if he didn't catch it or not. "Or, how about you let me go home and sleep, then maybe tomorrow when I actually have energy, we can chill out?" she offered, sounding forcefully friendly. She walked out of the alley, and looked around, cursing that there were still people around. Usually, she'd shift into her wolf form and run the rest of the way, but she didn't have much choice tonight. Maybe if she ignored him he'd leave her alone for the night.. she thought, thinking again that ignoring wasn't always the best idea... because you know, it usually wasn't. However, she continued along the street toward her apartment without another word, watching to see if he'd follow.

He caught the gun and sighed. He still wanted to find out more about her. Being a hybird was something one rarely saw. He took out a handkerchief and wiped the gun clean of prints and placed it in the mans hand. Give the police something else to look into. Taking his ruined coat and draping it over his arm in a way so the bloody sleeve would not show the blood he walked out into the street looking around as well to see if he could spot any other hunter, then followed the woman and caught up to her. "Are you really sure it is a good idea for you to go home? If there is another out here they will know where you live and perhaps come back with more. More then you can handle."

Riley stopped, looking back at Anubis, this time letting her annoyance be known, "I'm more concerned about getting my beauty sleep. What do you want with me anyway?" she asked, remembering she was the one following him in the first place... Great way to show she was paying attention... "You helped me in that fight. Why?" she asked, hoping to change the direction of their conversation.

Re: The Prince of Evil
"You interest me. Vampire and lycan together, now that is not something you see everyday." he grinned. "I take it that you were in a pack of lycans. Again something that is very rare these days. Pure blood lycans are not as plentiful as they were a very long time ago. I would like to meet them." he raised a brow at her asking why he had helped. "Well was hoping for a bit of entertainment. A good fight between you and the hunter, to see what you both had. He was good, to some degree. His weapons were made to kill a lycan."
Well that was one reason he had helped and was following her. The other was he was finding her interesting. She was good looking and from what he could tell had a lovely body.

"And I continue to be the point of interest, while I really enjoy avoiding it." she sighed, though glad that he wasn't one of those psycho killers that liked torturing their victims just for fun. As long as people keep researching mattresses, she'd no doubt always interest somebody. Riley held back laughter when he said he wanted to meet her pack. "I was raised in one, but as it stands, I don't know where they reside." she said, smiling a bit. "Even if I found out for you, I ain't going with you.."

Re: The Prince of Evil
"Now that is a shame." he was hoping to find and talk to them. Especially since he was responsible for their race being created. "Now why would you not go back to them?" he asked her. Even being a hybrid should not be a reason for her to not be part of her pack. "But still I don't think going back to your place will be a wise idea." He took a glance behind him again but saw no one that stood out. If there was another hunter, this one was even better then the other.
As they continued on, the number of people got fewer on the streets. They were entering a more residential part of the city. The street was less lighted. "But if you are determined to go home, I will escort you there."

"Maybe you're right... Do you know of a better place, then? I ain't sleepin' on no curb." she said, now figuring it would save her twin brother from getting found out. She didn't actually mean to still sound annoyed. Perhaps it was just the words she chose. "So long as you don't run tests on me or something while I'm sleeping, then I don't care where we go." she said, hoping she can actually trust him.

Re: The Prince of Evil
He looked at her grinning, "Of course I do." He stopped them and took out a cell phone and called a cab. As they waited he kept an eye out around them. When she told him as long as he didn't runtests on her he had to laugh. "I am no doctor or scientist. Though I am courious about how you came to be. Being part lycan and part vampire is truely remarkable and a powerful combination." Of course he was thinking of the half man half wolf form of a lycan, the ones he created. When the cab arrived he ushered her into it and told the driver the address to go to. "Well I think it only fitting that we know each other's name. I am Anubis." he gave her a grin.

She was very happy to hear that he wasn't interested in any tests. However, she wasn't one to share her past either. It was not a pretty thing to remember. She grinned back at him, "I'm Riley." she said, offering a hand to shake. It was only proper to do so, and she felt a little weird not offering a hand anyway. He had helped make that fight even after all, despite that he wanted to see a good fight in the first place. She had already asked him why he was so curious about her, but she figured she shouldn't be asking him many questions like that anyway, considering she had an investigation to do. Riley had to get this job done, no matter how long it took. Of course, though, she would have to make sure the killings did not happen during her time in his presence. Otherwise, her boss would probably have her head.

Re: The Prince of Evil
The cab driver took off and drove back down town through the busy streets. Deeper and deeper into the city they drove untill they were in the more richy part of the city where tall apartment buildings rose into the night sky. These were expensive places, for those that could afford them. As the cab moved through the streets Anubis looked out at the people. "So many that have no idea that such as us exist." He chuckled. "So delectable, so savory at times." he looked over at Riley. "I take it you do not take pleasure in feasting on the blood of others." he grinned. "A pitty you know. It can be so pleasurable if done right."
Soon the cab came to a stop infront of a tall building. Anubis opened the door and got out and then helped Riley out. Taking her gently by the arm he lead her to the door where a man in a uniform of sorts greeted him, "Welcome back Mr Canan." then smiled at Riley, "Miss." He gave a slight bow and opened the door for them. Inside was the large entrance of the building, with marble floors and walls with paintings, murals and a large crystal chandler. Across the entranceway was three elevators. To the center one Anubis guided Riley.

Riley couldn't believe her eyes. She had given up her apartment for this... well, she definately was not about to complain. She stopped, not wanting to go on the elevator. "Aren't there any stairs we could take?" she asked, looking up at him curiously, refusing to go into the elevator until he answered. It wasn't that she didn't trust him... which, actually she didn't... but moreso that she had had a few incidents with elevators. She avoided them at all costs now. If there was anything that always gave her bad luck, it was elevators.

"Well there are always stairs for emergencies but we are going all the way to the top." He held the door for her. He saw the look on her face, "I assure you, that you will be perfectly safe. Besides this is the only way to the Penthouse." he smiled. He gently pulled her forward. It was indeed a long way up to the 60th floor and he was not wanting to tire her with such a long climb. After all she was part human as well. He chuckled, "I promise I won't bite."

Re: The Prince of Evil
The 60th floor.... She resisted against him pulling her forward, and said, "Are you kidding me?" her eyes widened as soon as she had heard they were going all the way to the top. That was no doubt a long way up... but it was even further on the way back down... Of course, for those who were seriously afraid of heights, anyway. She took in a deep breath, contemplating. Indeed, this was a beautiful place... but she wasn't sure if she'd be able to sleep knowing she was so far up from the ground. "If you bite, I'll have no choice but to bite back, but that's not my point." she said, still trying to figure out if she really wanted to go up or not. "Are you sure there isn't any other places you know of?" Riley asked, trying to calm herself down as she stood outside the elevator.

Re: The Prince of Evil
He rubbed his chin when she asked if there was any other place they could go. It was evident that she did not like elevators or something. Perhaps she had a thing about being to high up. There was another place, though he did not like having anyone know about it. But he figured if he had to, he could eliminate her and keep his other place secret. "There is another place." he told her and then took her to the stairs that lead down to the garage level of the building. Here he uncovered a 1957 Corvet and ushered her into the passenger seat before hoping into the driver's seat and starting it up. He took off, squealing tires as he raced through the underground garage and out the exit and onto the street.
He raced down the streets and out of the city into the countryside, constantly looking in the rear view mirror to see if they were being followed. Once satisfied he slowed down a bit and drove down a narrow road till it came to a gate that was part of a high wall that surrounded an estate of sorts. Pushing a button on dashboard the gate opened and he drove in and closed the gate after them. He drove up to the old mansion and parked infront.
Security cameras by the front door turned in their direction as they pulled up and he got out. "Kind of want to keep this place a secret if you know what I mean." he told her as he opened the car door for her.

"Yeah..." Riley said, getting out of the vehicle when he opened the door for her. This place definately looked like an estate. Jack(her boss) would love to hear about this place. She had easily seen the way here, so she could get here again if she needed to. She knew this place, and the general location of his apartment. She'd end up being employee of the century if she was able to get this guy behind bars...
"How many places do you have?" she asked, just for conversation sake. She never expected a mass killer would have so damn much money. She was trained and licensed to kill, and her brother ended up spending all the money on clothes and pretty stuff before the rent. That always made for a good argument.

Re: The Prince of Evil
Anubis laughed, "Oh I have several places. These two here a couple in California, Italy, France, Greece, and other places. One does not live as long as I have and not have places around the world." He felt at ease around Riley. He had never opened up or showed any one any of his places. He had known a few vampiresses in the past but they had been full of themselves and and weren't worth a damn. Human females were so weak and frightened so easily that they were not worth trying to enslave or anything.
Placing his hand on a glass plate by the door a light scanned his hand and there were several clicks as a number of locks slid back and the two heavy metal front doors opened. "Lights." he said and the lights came on, to reveal a magnificent entranceway lined with various types of armor, swords, spears and other weapons of old. As they entered the doors swung shut and again he placed his hand on a glass plate by the door on the inside and the doors locked. "Forgive the security of the place. Not only is this a place of refuge, but I have many valuable things here from the past milinums. Keep sakes you might say of grander days."
As he guided her further on in to the mansion, the next room held paintings by famous artists of the past on the walls. In glass cases were rare clay and stone tablets from Egypt, the middle east and other places. Things that could be in museums, that would pay a pretty penny to have. "As you can see I kept alot of stuff from my past." he guided her to what looked to be a throne with a statue of Anubis Warriors on either side of it. "This is the oldest I guess. My throne when I was Anubis, God of the Underworld of Egypt." he chuckled.

Re: The Prince of Evil
"Anubis... hah. So that's how you got that wolf form of yours." Riley mumbled, then spoke more clearly, "If you were the all powerful Anubis, where is your dear Anukis?" she asked, hoping she got the name right. She had done research about different gods a while back, and couldn't help but think about something that kept coming up, but never seemed to be pointed out, or even explained. It was just one of those things that people noticed, but never thought it was interesting... which, that was pretty... interesting. Something like that, the press goes nuts. Loved ones always ended up near you somehow... whether they new it or not.
She really wasn't that comfortable about the security. She totally understood that he wanted to keep it safe, but this was understatement of the year. He had it locked up like Fort Knox. "Actually, it's slightly unnerving..." she said, looking around as they kept walking. She wanted to remember which halls lead where just in case she needed to get back out in a hurry.

Re: The Prince of Evil
At the mention of the name a pained look crossed Anubis' face and eyes. "Gone. She was destroyed along with many others in the wars for power." That was one thing that his kind had taught the humans, a lust for greater power, the desire to rule over others. That was something that was never written down in the history books. The rebellions that ensused against the vampires back then, those that succeeded and nearly wiped out all of them. That had been one reason he had never tried again to be a ruler of humans, but instead one might say was the power behind the throne.
"Yes I know it can be." he told her as he quickly moved on to stairs that lead up to the second floor of the mansion. "I like my privicy and...." he turned and looked at her, "I like living, so I take precautions against hunters as well as thieves." He opened the door to a large bed chamber, "What do you do for a living?" he suddenly asked, "Being able, I supoose to tolerate the light of day and obviously you are not old enough to have aquired such things that would make you wealthy, you must work."

Re: The Prince of Evil
Riley nodded, feeling like a bitch now for asking that. She didn't expect him to actually have a lady friend. Then again, she shouldn't have been surprised. Stranger things have happened. She actually wouldn't mind having a place like this. If she moved out of the place she had with her brother, she could probably afford a place like this. She never really saw her paychecks, as her brother tended to take care of that. However, with the amount of stuff he comes home with after payday, they would have to get a bigger place anyway. As for who she and her brother worked for... well, she wasn't sure if she should be telling him that... So instead, she cleared her throat, and said, "Not much, just some small company."
Which had to be understatement of the year, if nothing else. Her company, The Directorate, was actually a secret part of the government where nonhumans worked to keep other nonhumans in order. Keep killings down, kinda thing. Her job title was well known to the humans, however. The Directorate Guardians tended to be well hated by the humans. They were police officers, detectives, and assassins all in one. Dubbed Licensed Killers. Riley was afraid Anubis would figure this out. If she said anything about the Directorate, or if he found her badge in her pocket, she figured she'd be in big trouble. As far as she knew, she couldn't already have gotten in deep.
