Drake looks at her and says, "There is plenty of animals on my land. No one but me and my family can hunt there." He thinks for a moment. He says, "My father spoke fondly of a vampire named Isis. He said she has never tasted human blood. She is an elder. So it is possible you could resist human blood like her." He looks at her. "Are you sure you want to spend forever with me Brook?"

Brook listented intently and her mood brightened. "Oh I hope so" She sighed "I dont want you to have to worry about me or having to kill me if I upset the elders" She shuddered slightly then turned to him and smiled "I hope so" She then gasped and her eyes went wide when he asked the last question

"Drake of course I do" Her bottom lip quivered "Dont you want me?"

Drake looks at her and says, "Of course I want you Brook but after a thousand years of being alone I have doubts that you are truly here with me. Like this is a deep dream I could wake up from at any moment and you will disappear from my grasp forever."

Listenting to him Brook frowned she nearly cried but she took his hand and brought it to her lips. "My love you are not dreaming, and I am real, and what we have is real she brought his hand to feel her scars. "Really if you were dreaming, you would dream up a girl like me, that had to be sewen back together? No your mind would have dreamt up a beauftul flawless woman"

She kissed him softly and sighed. "Belive me my love this is real"

Drake looks at her with a sigh and kisses her softly. He says, “You are perfect to me. Scars and all, you are flawless to me.” He still had doubts about some of this. She was his world and he could not live without her. He says, “We will have to remind each other from now on.” He kisses her on the forehead and smiles.

She could tell that he wasnt convinced. And truth be told neither was she. Maybe she was still unconcious from the accident that killed her mother and sister, maybe she had never woken up. She had heard of comas lasting years, and knew her father would never give up on her, as long as she had brain activity he would never give up on her.

She looked up at him and licked her lips "Drake I love you, can you hold me for a little while?" She asked her voice trembling a little.

((How do you feel about a fire...their house catches fire, father has died and she is nearly dead when Drake finds her, takes her and her cat house burns down so no one thinks she could have lived...or make it so her father can be around?))

Drake looks at her and takes her in his arms and holds her close. He could hear every thought in her head. He says, "I am no dream my love..." He hold until he hears her body trembling in need of sleep. He says, "Time to sleep my love. Your body needs some rest." He slowly starts to put her to sleep. (A fire would be interesting...)

Brook felt like laughing, it was only seconds ago that she was reasuring him and now he was reasuring her. She was fighting sleep she didnt want to go to sleep, didnt want to risk him disaperring on her.

She continue to fight it until he started to make her. "Drake....humm....my ....song" she struggled to say.

Drake smiles and hums her song in her ear as he needed her to relax. Her heart rate was starting to sound more calm and her body was easier to hold because she was not tensed up in pain. He holds her for hours before the nurses start to get things around for Brook to go home. He sees her dad and gives him a nod of respect.

Once her song entered her mind Brook sighed and fell into a deep slieep. Her pain lessened and she snuggled into him. She didnt wake eve as the nurses started to get things ready. Her body still trying to make up for the weeks that she didnt sleep when he was gone.

Her father seemed pleased that Drake was being respectful. He leaned against the doorframe. "I havent seen her sleep like that since you left" He rubbed his neck. "I guess you are what she needed."

Drake nods and says calmly, "Well I know...I should have stayed with her in the first place sir. Things were messed up with my family. My father recently passed away..." He looks at Brook and says, "I understand you are angry with me."

Her father gasped. "Drake I am sorry, I was angry when you came back, when you first were with Brook I saw my little girl again, I mean when I saw her at the hosptial I could barely reconize her, you know she refused to do anymore skin grafts, says she was tired of them, but I think she still blames herself for the accident" He shook his head. "I know she loves you and I can tell you love her"

Brook hearing them talk stired softly and her father chuckled. "She still doesnt like anyone talking about her" He nodded. "You are welcome in our house anytime, I dont know if she will be up to going to school"

Drake looks at him a moment and says, “Sir I know this may sound a little sudden but I do want to marry her.” He was a bit unsure of why he was not angry with him. He says, “I love her more than anything in the world and I will never leave her alone again.”

Not really sure why he wasnt angrey at him. He raised his eyes and smiled. "That would make me very happy, she needs someone like you in her life" Brook decided to wake up then and scolded her father.

"Father you have been a great father" She then looked up at Drake and sighed. "Sounds good to me my love" She sighed and then tensed slightly. "When am I going home, I dont like the smell here"

Drake sighs as Brook got up. He says, “You were supposed to be resting.” He looks at her father and says, “Once you get her home I will answer any and every question you have about my family and me.” He could read her father’s every thought and he knew this had to be done if he wanted to marry her.

"I cant rest here, it smells funny" She said. She really just wanted to get home. She missed the comforts of her bed, and this place reminded her too much of her past when she had been tied down because there was worry she would kill herself. She remembered the pain of the grafting. She shuddered and silently siad "Im sorry" to Drake that would have been forced to relive it just as she had.

She looked at her father and smiled. "JUst keep an open mind please"

Drake shakes his head slightly with a smile. A few minutes later the two men leave so Brook could get dressed in private. Then her father takes her home and Drake follows behind them irritated that her father drives the speed limit. He wanted Brook to get home and warm as soon as possible.

It took awhile for her to get dressed. She was stiff from laying in a bed for so long, and knew she was in despret need of a shower but it would have to wait.

On the way home she had to smile. Her father was driving slow. She had a feeling Drake was feeling impatient "In time" she silently thought.

Once home her father walked to her door to open it. He was startled at how grey she looked. "Im f ffffine dad just a lllittle cold" She stammered out.

Drake pulls up behind her dad and helps her get warm by wrapping a thick warm blanket around her. He says, “I’ll make you some hot cocoa to warm you up.” The both of them went in the kitchen and her father started asking his questions and Drake answered them honestly as he could. He brings Brook the hot cocoa and kisses her forehead.

Brookthanked him for the blanket still unsure why she couldnt get warm but figured she better get used to it. When the questions started Brook sighed and bit her lip worried about the questions and anserws.

Taking the hot coco she relized how strong she was shaking. She bit her lip and tried her breathing activities. Her heart slowed down so much one would think she was unconcios.

Once her father got the answers he wanted he left them alone. Drake says sitting beside her, “It’s the blood I gave you that is making you cold. It’s working its way out of your system rather slowly.” He wraps an arm around her and kisses her softly on the lips. “You will be fine once it’s out of your system.”

Being alone with Drake she relaxed only a little though. "Drake I wasnt paying attention, what did my dad ask, and what did you say?" She nodded hearing his reason why she was feeling like this. "Is that why I look grey too?"

She leaned into him and sighed. "How long until it is out?" She half smiled "That sounded wrong" She frowned "I mean I just dont want my father to worry"

Drake says calmly, “What we talked about is not important as long as he is satisfied with the answers he got.” He kisses her forehead. “It will take at least a month for it to make its way out of your system. Until then, you will gray and feel cold.” He smiles some. “It is kind of a glimpse of being a vampire.”

Giving him a little bit of a questioning look but as he kissed her forhead she imeditally lost her train of thought and she smiled up at him. "Well its not to bad" She said softly. She took his hand and brought it to her lips and smiled. "I still want this and I want you" She stood and wrapped her arms around him and grinned. "So I guess you didnt need your bullet proofness?"

She sighed and rested her head on his chest. "What do you want to do? I mean I am really behind in my homework, but how am I going to explain my quick recovery? I mean I was suppose to be dead"

Drake says, “You should not go back to school until my blood is out of your system. We don’t need people staring at you all day long. I can bring your missed work here and we can do it together.” At her comment of her supposed to be dead, he tensed up in guilt. “I am sorry I left you. I thought I was doing the right thing…”
